Please welcome Franklin Woods to the Kayla's Krew family!!
The night started behind the fire station as they set their trucks out on the roads to hear the sirens, leading to the Council to quickly eliminate the option of Lions Legend.
Our decision was then between Froemming and Franklin Woods. It was a split decision, 3 in favor and 3 abstaining, as some of the Aldermen recognized that Shelly's heart was leading her to Franklin Woods over Froemming. (Evans, Dandrea, D.Mayer voted yes). The split vote created some confusion, causing City Attorney Jesse Wesolowski to refer to the municipal code to validate the motion to accept Franklin Woods as the chosen site. Following the special meeting, Wesolowski completed further research and obtained a second opinion from Assistant Legal Counsel for the League of Wisconsin Municipalities to conclude the playground site was accurately approved.
Franklin Woods Nature Center is located at 3723 W. Puetz Road. It currently has a small playground, wooded areas with trails, a parking lot, and the sanitary sewer lines for future restrooms. It is a very serene and beautiful location with homes at a sensible distance away.
We are so excited to have a home in Alderwoman Evans district and want to send a thank you to Parks Commission Chair Dave Pautz for welcoming us with open arms.
Some of our equipment, such as our Liberty Swing is almost here and we are so excited! Now let's start rallying the troops to get this built!!
